I won't mention any more details on the laptop other than I'm considering getting one and it's better two.

How much of a performance hit will I take on the AMD? There is about £100 difference between the two. The 2nd one I had as a work laptop at one stage and loved it, but at my new company we don't get given laptops
It's very frustrating and IT/server professional without a laptop!!
At the moment I'm tempted to take the AMD. I'm not going to be using it for gaming etc etc. It's more for proper work tasks and VMWare/VPC stuff. I've got a main PC that the bulk of it has come from OCUK Q6600 with 4GB RAM etc for music, films, and virtual server stuff
