My old laptop, a Dell Celeron 600MHz. is no longer much use with its 192MB memory. It just is not up to the present software. I am therefore am the market for a new one. I am looking at a Mac Book as a possible replacement as judging by the ones I have seen they seem to be a very good build quality.

However, I need to run a couple of programs in Vista although most of my needs can be met by Open Office or something like it that runs on OSX. has anyone successfully managed to dual boot a mac book using Vista?

Openoffice or Neooffice on the Mac should meet your needs.

Yeah can be done officialy via Bootcamp or Virtualized via VMWare/Parallels

Hi,

There are a few options for you to run windows. You can use virtualisation software like vmware fusion or you can use bootcamp which ships with leopard.

For lightweight tasks running a virtual machine is your best bet but if you want to get the best performance then use bootcamp.

I use fusion myself. Basically your whole windows system is stored within one large file and then this is mounted to give you the virtualised machine.

Anymore questions and the guys here are willing to help!

Check the software sticky

It contains 3 guides on how to put Windows on your Mac, legally.
