Ive got about £450 budget need a laptop for gaming, somthing that is gonna last for a while any ideas guys?

Was looking at Acer 5750 Laptop (Intel Core i5, 8GB, 500GB, 15.6" Display) not sure what the graphics are like on this tho?

Its using the on chip HD 3000 graphics - not great for gaming, but depends on the game.

"gonna last for a while" makes me think you should go for something with a separate graphics card in it, but at your price that means something else will have to give, eg processor and/or memory.

Here's a Dell on offer as an example, other makes will no doubt do something similar:-

£458 - Inspiron 15 (Includes delivery)
Intel® Core™ i5-2450M (2 cores, 4 threads, 3M Cache, 2.5GHz with turboboost up to 3.10 GHz)
15.6" (1366x768) WLED
4GB RAM
640GB HD
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 525M
DVD Writer

That graphics card is a massive advantage over HD 3000, and you're still in i5 territory, you can upgrade the ram at a later date if need be.

Dropping to an i3 can get you thinking about what more you can pack in, a spin on the outlet shows:-

£462 - XPS 17 (May need to add £22 delivery)
Intel® Core™ i3-380M (2 cores, 4 threads, 3M Cache, 2.53 GHz)
4 GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz (2 DIMMs)
320 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
8X DVD+/-RW Drive
17.3in HD+ WLED (1600x900) with 2.0 Mega Pixel Integrated Camera
NVIDIA GeForce GT 435M 1GB

That graphics card is faster again, larger screen, higher def, and the CPU is "only" missing turboboost.

Plenty of stats out there on youtube with gamers showing what you can achive on lots of variations of rig if you want to get into possible frame rates etc.

Am I pushing your budget a bit hard on those figures? Here's an i3 with the 525 in it on offer:-

£404 Inspiron 15 (Includes delivery)
Intel® Core™ i3-2350M (2 cores, 4 threads, 3M Cache, 2.30 GHz)
15.6" (1366x768) WLED
4GB
640GB
1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 525M
DVD Writer

Maybe enough left for that extra ram?
