BenQ V2400W 24" Wide LCD Monitor

I've had my eye on this new monitor for weeks, but it just won't appear in any UK stores! :( I haven't seen anyone talking about it here on the oc forum, but it's worth a mention.

A handful of smaller stores have it listed but there has not been any saying in stock, some stores were due to have some come in last tuesday but they never arrived (I was wanting one!). Can OC provide any info here about the availability of this new monitor? will OC be getting it in soon?

It will be selling for around £300 and is what looks to be a direct competitor to samsung for a good gaming monitor. The samsung sm245b on power use is 100W max but this V2400W is nearly half that at 55W max, that's a lot of power saving and probably less heat/noise (if any).

It's built with what looks to be some of the technology from the G2400W which is a great price at the moment (around £250) - if you can stand the boring design.

the V2400W is a world apart from the G2400W though, the design alone makes it stand out and will be an instant high on the list selling point for many. It also boasts HDMI (a headphone port for sound) dvi and vga, 2ms GTG AMA technology, 1:1 fix good for consoles (not confirmed but the G2400W had it - can't see why this wouldn't). There's tilt, but no height adjust.

This must be a TN panel because of the low ms and viewing angles, I think this monitor will be of great interest to gamers, and will look verrry nice on your desk.

See for yourself:

from the same site, loads of pics of the G2400W if you're interested and want to compare them.

That looks lovely! Nice to see a slightly different design, but that looks very sleek. I like it a lot. :D Apparently it's the worlds slimmest 24" TFT as well.

If only id bought one of these instead of a dedicated folding box . . . :(

Oh well. I ll wait till next tyear to upgrade monitors.

Sorry about the link Gibbo. Cheers for putting it on ocUK's site though, I'm about to order but wondering when can you expect stock? There's not a massive wait is there? :)

Cheers.

Order placed... kind of. lol.

My bank decided to block the transaction, so ocUK called me back (very cool btw, so nice touch there ocUK!) and explained what had happened.

Phoned the bank up and spoke to the fraud department and had the block lifted, but now the shop is closed. :( Have to call back tomorrow... oh well. The monitor will be mine. haha.

Looks lush, but its still an TN panel so that makes Hazromonster hungry :)

For the money its better then my ex-Samsung 245B and specs are a lot better but thats normal considering its just come out with newer tech.

Would idealy prefer a hazro with dvi+hdmi and wide gamut :)

Trusted Reviews now have a great review of the monitor up, appears they are one of the lucky few to get their hands on one early.

This is the first proper review in the world I've been able to find on this monitor.

4 page detailed review :D I'm going to check it out now.

Mate, delete that URL as that's what I linked to earlier. ;)

I like the styling of this monitor!

May choose to order one later on this week, should go well with a Mac Pro!

Anyone got it? Post some pictures!!

Ta.

I love the design, it's probably the first LCD monitor I've seen that's truly unique and where one of its biggest selling points is its design. But obviously that's not the only attraction to it not forgetting connectivity, response time and price for a start.

as far as I know no one has this monitor yet, only trusted reviews has one. There was supposed to be a shipment to a small handful of stores on the 20th may but it never happened fully as far as I know (if it did partially they went to immediate staff/selected people the store trusted reviews got theirs from). There is supposed to be another shipment on the 31st.. don't expect anything concrete though.

Mine's still on order mate. :( Don't know when it will arrive.

I haven't made a pre order until I know something concrete, but I'm in touch with another store who have promised to let me know on the day they get them in stock, the problem is they only know on the day, doesn't appear they know for sure and benq are a difficult company to get hold of/confirmation of deliveries.

I won't pre order from OC until they can get a confirmed date so I'll be holding off pre ordering from anyone at the moment.
