New led tv in front of radiator

I'm getting a new 60 inch led tv and at the moment the only place I can install it is 1 foot in front of the radiator.

Would that cause any damage to the tv in the long run assuming I use the radiator normally .

It can certainly shorten the life of the TV as components are rated to work up to a certain temperature (talking about junction temperatures). Thermal calcuations for domestic use are normally taken as room temperature with a +/-degs. If you then up the ambient temperature considerably and thats what will happen in front of a radiator, you may take the components above their de-rated usage lowering the MTBF or at worse cause a component failure due to over heating.

Yes

You would be mad to spend what 2 grand on a tv then stick it in front of a radiator.

Turn the radiator off but leave all the rest in the house on or put the tv elsewhere or put the radiator elsewhere.

Or buy a cheap crappy tv which you won't care if it dies on you.
 
I have my 37" samsung just in front of my radiator. Since it's been there I've not used the radiator, instead depending on my PC to heat the room, which it does magnificently.

Leave the radiator where it is and put a jumper on :p
 
I have a similer question but it's ok now. Had a 39incher either HERE or above radiatir? However I am thinking of 24incher HERE insted and have multi monitor setup here?
