Hey all

I posted a while ago looking for a new lense, but now am after one that will do possibly more than one thing? If not I don't mind buying two.

I'd like one with more zoom than I currently have, and one for sunset/landscape shots?

I currently have the following equipment

600D
18-55mm kit
50mm 1.8

And thats about it!

Thanks for any advice :)

Canon 15-85mm IS meets both your requirements nicely.

However you should be able to get some very nice landscape shots with the 18-55mm. Any reasons why you find it limiting?

You could also just add a Canon 55-250mm IS for aorund £100 to give you a bit more reach and you'll have a pretty good telephoto lens.

tokina 11-16mm f2.8 dxii, very good for landscapes and indoors stuff

Thank you for your reply I shall look into it :)

Is the 55-250mm lense acceptable in terms of quality at that price point? Seems very cheap price wise! I really do want a tad more zoom, I'll try the 18-55mm at work tonight assuming the sky stays clear :)

I'm really pleased with my EFS 18-135 IS USM, really versatile lens at this price, should give you the additional zoom you are after.

Also for cheap messing around have a look at a reversing lens kit for the nifty fifty for some ghetto macro shots :)

Well it is for £100. It's pretty sharp and has decent IS but the build quality isn't great and it doesn't have the nice USM motor.

However in terms of image quality it's a decent lens and gives some serious bang for your buck.

Your 18-55mm is also more than adequate for landscapes and a great starter lens.

If you want a wide lens for landscape then tokina 11-16 or canon 10-22 would be a good choice to go.

But if you want to have only one lens then i would recommend canon 15-85IS same as mancubus which is very nice focal length and then sell your 18-55.
