Hi,

I bought this TV a couple of days ago and I've noticed something strange.

First it looked as if the image was set back inside the TV, but as I looked closer I could see the image is actually still being displayed on what appears to be the front piece of glass, and it looks like there is another layer behind it (as you can see at the top of the picture).

At first I thought it was just a reflection but upon closer inspection the image actually carries on into this area, making it look like there are two separate images, one behind the other.

If I look at it from the top right corner looking towards the bottom left, the image appears all the way to the front glass in the top right corner, but then I can see this effect in the bottom left.

I don't know if this is how its supposed to be or not, my old Samsung TV certainly didn't have anything like this, and neither has any other screen I've used come to think of it.

Anyone know whats going on here? Any help much appreciated.

LG's come with a glass front panel. the only other tv's to come with them were plasma's i don't know about OLED's as I'm not interested in them atm.

it's unusual for an LCD to have them as LCD's were the tv to go for in a brightly lit room where a glass panel would reflect light. i own an LG with a glass panel and IMO it looks far better than Samsung's offerings, much better build quality too. most lcd's have perspex or nothing in front of the panel. Glass is a much better finish.

be careful how you clean it if it has a filter on it. i use alcohol free baby wipes. i've heard of peoples wives using glass cleaner and ruining the tv to the point they have to scrape all the filter off.
