Hi Guys

in my usual flurry of clicking next on every page, my online license application to update my photocard has gone through fine.

now the new card is with me, do i have to send the old card & counterpart back to the DVLA?

if so, can anyone link me to where as my google-fu is having trouble locating it.

cheers

When I lost my paper counterpart and got a new one, they asked me to send back any old paper and card parts. I didn't bother. They never said anything.

Yes you need to post it back, apparently it is an offence to hold two licences.

I need to send mine back bit I do not know which is the old and which is the new one!

hmm, conflicting views.

anyone got the definitive answer?

I never read the small print and don't want to keep it if I'm supposed to send it back

You are suppose to send it back, but I'm sure many people don't.

I sent mine back when I moved address but never got anything to confirm they received it.

just spoke to the DVLA. their phone system was pretty decent actually, better than i anticipated anyway.

you do have to send it back.

I got a replacement licence (new photo) and was supposed to send back the old one. I forgot about it and didn't get any follow up but maybe I was lucky.

I lost my paper licence and had it renewed along with my card, still use the old card and have the new card safe at home..
