I know this generally is a no-no, but I'm struggling to find anywhere in my local area that stock the next helmet I'm after, namely the Arai Axces II Stage.
What are peoples general consensus about buying a lid from a reputable manufacturer going simply on head measurement?
My original plan was to find somewhere in Germany that stocks the lid so I could try it on, then order it online for delivery in the UK so it can be waiting for me when I get back to the UK, as my AGV has been knocked while I've been away, and I need a new lid before I pick up the new bike.

I wouldn't, they are just random sizes don't know why they even have measurements. They even change between different models by the same manufacturer.
Only way is using DSR so you cab send it back, I assume this still applies for helmets? But obviously you have a time limit on it.

See, that's the most annoying part, the fact that sizes change even between models, which makes me finding one to try on even more difficult, that I can't just try on a different Arai lid.

I wore Arais for years but a few years ago I decided on a change and went for an AGV Stealth Dragon. Didn't try one on, just ordered a size "L" from fleabay and decided to chance it. Worked out fine, its a perfect fit although it's a lot noisier than my Arai was. I got away with it, size wise but I'm not sure I'd chance it again with a different make.

I'm moving away from AGV due to the noise, as I found my Stealth a particularly noisy lid. The size wasn't a great fit either. I got it semi tight fitting expecting it to, over time loosen off. This never happened though, and I ended up with quite a high amount of pressure on the front of my head.
Pain in the arse having such an odd shaped head lol. I measure around 60/61, but my head is is quite long, so it doesn't look like I've got a big head. Makes finding a perfect fitting helmet even more difficult.
