Asked a similar question, but didn't get reply. Those that get a response here seem to get snobby ones of spend more money, or they complain there isn't enough info in what people are asking. I have spent a bit of time reading about different TV's/makes and also visited a well known retailer (probably a competitor so wont say their name).
I think Samsung are a superior screen in this price range. I discounted Panasonic due to the poor lighting which made some colours look poor. They smart/apps interface also looked cumbersome and took a lot of presses to get where you wanted to. The Samsung screens at this price range showed a lot more vibrant colours IMO.
My research seems to be the Sony is better for sports and fast moving stuff, where as the Samsung is better for colour rich content like documentaries, etc.
The Samsung interface seemed quite nice and quick to use, with the added bonus of screen mirroring if you have a Samsung phone. I just looked at the TV you mentioned and it seems to perform well. If you go on a well known electronic retailer (think spicey food) and use their Compare tool on the page, I compared:
- SAMSUNG UE55KU6020 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 55" LED TV
- SAMSUNG UE49KU6470 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 49" LED TV
- SAMSUNG UE49KU6400 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 49" LED TV
- SAMSUNG UE50KU6000 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 50" LED TV
The TV I'm looking at is the 6470, which over the one you mentioned has 4k HDR support, DVB-S2 Freesat HD Tuner and Magic Remote. Yours is an inch bigger and is £50 cheaper.
I'd have a look at a sound bar as well as modern TV's are so thin they have very poor speakers.
