New Logitech Gaming Mouse?

I'm thinking of upgrading my mouse.

Currently I am using a Logitech MX510, I have been using this for gaming for the past 6 years. And it still plays like new, for this reason I want to stick with Logitech.

The mx510 software is not supported on Windows 7 x64.

I've heard that one of the games I play is greatly improved by altering the rate to 1000Hz. So this, as well as support for my operating system, is a must.

I'm currently looking at the G5v2. Does this work ok on Windows 7? Or am I better off looking at a diffferent Logitech mouse?

(The mx518 is not an option)

I went from a 510 to a 518, fantastic mouse. Will get another 518 if this one ever dies, not that it's showing any signs of doing so.

still using my MX518, changed to a copperhead a while ago but it gave out pretty quick, went back to the 518, solid as a rock and a fantastic gaming mouse.

The MX518 has not got the features I'm looking for. I need to be able to change the polling rate to 1000Hz.

(I've read that it is possible to change the polling rate using hidusbf but only to 500Hz max on the MX518, where as a lot of the newer Logitech range have this feature built in)
