New loop questions

Hi,

In the process of moving my rig to a new case and expanding/extending my loop.

Currently have 1 x 120 and 1 x 240 in push pull and adding 1 x 420 in push pull. All rads are 60mm thick. Fans are Corsair ML120 and ML 140.

CPU (4790k at 4.6) and GPU (Radeon VII) in loop.

So onto questions.

1] Are silver kill coils still required? I'm using Alphacool CKC premix.

2] I have a dual bay res with a D5. Is there any benefit to adding a second D5 to the loop?

3] What benefit would there be from adding a second res if any?

CKC contains a special copper anticorrosive and does not contain Ethylene glycol, Ethandiol or other additives, offers the full thermal capacity of water and suppresses Algae and bacteria growth. It also contains additional inhibitors against corrosion.
depends on the loop length for extra d5 .. second res ? why unless your doing 2 loops
i'd ditch the 120 rad and just have the 240 and the new one ..
i just have a 360 on each loop with a vega and 1700 o/c

So kill coil not required then?
The second res is a tube res that I have. Was wondering if there was any benefit to using it or just get rid. Possibly cosmetic use if no detriment to adding it.

no harm in a second .. silver might react to somthing in the liquid .. better safe than sorry

Single d5 will eassily handle that loop and rads, you can add the 2nd d5 for redundancy if you have a seriously restrictive flow. I would keep the tube res spare incase the d5 ever dies on your bay res. With your premix it already does the job of the kill coil. I have one sitting in my draw for when I finally run out of xspc biocide and just want to run my loop with distilled water
