New Mac Mini Keyboard Won't Pair Initial Setup??

I've just bought a Mac Mini to use as a media device and I'm unable to pair it with my Apple keyboard during the initial setup. I can of course do this in the OS when I get there, but can't get there as the initial set up needs me to create a user account, which I can't with no paired keyboard!! Mouse and trackpad both fine but I have 2 Apple keybaords, existing and brand new today and neither will pair.

Help me Obi One you are my only hope

Had to go USB keyboard route, wasn't going to work with the wireless keyboards for some reason that no one on the internet seems to know. I have searched high and low and the solution that occurs all over is, plug in a usb keyboard if it doesn't work.

Crappy set Apple.

..and now I have a spinning wheel at the Create Computer Account screen!!

I am not impressed so far....very un-apple experience at present.

Make sure the light is flashing on the keyboard so its discoverable

Yea did all that, common issue it seems and USB keyboard sorted it, into OS X and select bluetooth and all sorted. Annoying though, should just work really but all running now and currently Plex is sorting out all my movies etc on my NAS.

Tonight I am mostly watching the Commitments forgot how funny it was.
