Firstly, loving my new iMac and managing to learn most stuff myself, but I o have a few questions.

1) I have an external HDD running Time Machine and storing my music and video's etc.. However, my iMac doesn't like it when I put it to sleep without 'ejecting' the drive. Is there a way round this?

2) I'm having trouble viewing my photo's. In the folder they are tiny little icons, I've figured out to get them ****** but when I open a picture I cant flick through the rest in the folder like I can in windows preview. The only way to do it is to 'apple + A' then open them all. Is there a better program for previewing pictures

3) Am I the only one who isn't to keen on the mouse? I find I often 'drop' things when trying to drag and drop them. I'm giving it a chance however because it must be loved for a reason.

Thanks, I will return this knowledge one day when I become a Mac expert ;)

I will be adding more questions as I think of them.

1) Not sure about this one.

2) Try using quick look, press 'space' when the picture you want is selected, then simply use the left and right arrow keys to flick through them.

3) Yeah, the mighty mouse is a bit dodgy at times and the scrolling usually messes up on them. But I love mine because it fits in well and looks really nice. Apparently the bluetooth ones are better than the wired ones though.

1) I haven't used TimeMachine yet so I can't comment.

2) Have you tried using iPhoto?

3) I think the mouse is rubbish and know exactly what you mean about "dropping" things. I use a wireless Microsoft mouse.

2 - Use Quicklook to view them. Press space on one then use the up and down keys to flick through them.

3 - Textbook form over function product. Plug in a decent MS or Logitech mouse!

[edit - oh dear!]

Beat you by seconds, yet again :P

Wtf!?

Thanks for the quick look thing, I'd heard about it but never found it. Does it show the pictures at the full resolution or downscale them?

It works pretty well except you have to click right, right, right, down, left left left. Instead of right, right, right, right etc...

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
