OK - bought a new iMac in the local Apple shop recently. I went for the top end 3.4Ghz i7 with 4GB RAM, 1TB HD and 1GB VRAM.
I was happy with it and then I spotted the same model on the refurb store for about £290 less so I decided to get that and return the full price one.
Well, the refurb arrived today and it has 2TB HD, 8GB RAM and 2GB VRAM. 3 free upgrades which I think make it well worth the money.
I called up Apple who had the system down as the correct specs according to the serial number and told me I just got lucky.
So - £1500 got me a 3.4 Ghz i7 with 2TB of storage, 8GB or RAM and the 2GB 6970m.
I'm pretty happy with that.
