Its come to the point where i finally have enough to make the switch to a mac and i am now stuck on choosing which macbook to purchase.
I would like a pro as it justifies to what i will be doing on it and appeals to me spec wise, however the prices are high even on a discount but my budget is 1250 and im looking to purchase the apple care and sleeve if i go ahead with the new macbook purchase which will blow my whole budget.
where with the old macbook pro the spec still suits me, but i can either pick up a new one for 1050, or get a 2nd hand one for 800 from the bay nearly new. Is it worth paying the extra for the newest model?

also question about apple care, say if i buy a 2nd hand macbook pro, roughly how much is it? can you still get a discounted one as a student? and does it start once the 1st year standard warranty ends?
