New Macbook pro screen brightness changing on its own?

Hellooo :D

I have a nice new macbook pro and I'm sat in the dark on it now and the screen seems to be getting brighter then darker on its own?

Any reason why its doing this?

I've only had it since thursday I hope its not faulty!!

It's supposed to do that, it has ambient light sensors so it adjusts in different light to help your eyes.

Go to System Preferences > Displays > At the bottom untick the box that says 'Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes'.

Yeah its a great idea, one of the many things I love about owning a MBP :) Is yours the new Penryn model like mine?

One question, why did you feel the need to get a MBP considering you already have a MB? Not having a go, just genuinely interested.
 
I believe so :) Its a 2.4ghz 2gb 200gb model. I couldn't believe it didn't include a remote when I opened the box!!!

The reason for the upgrades quite stupid really! My macbook is a 2ghz core duo model from when they first came out and the 60gb hard drive was a bad choice!

I wanted something with a little more power as I have been struggling with CS3 a little and then when my cat bit through the charger I thought right well thats a good enough excuse for me and went and got a Pro :D

I've passed the macbook onto my mrs now so she doesn't need to pester me when I'm on it!
