Brought a new sealed Macbook Pro 13 512GB, 8GB, Iris, from the market place fulfiled by a large online retailer for £1180, and opened it to find it has an English International keyboard layout.

Its a lovely machine, and I am not overly fussed about the keyboard layout although I can send it back and get my postage refunded if I want.

Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on this ? - Would you return it or keep it ?

My MBA has the same keyboard. I'm not sure if apple don't ship with the international keyboard as a standard but i've never had any issue with it at all.

I can not see any difference on the international and the British keyboards at all.

Took me a while to get use to the @ sign being in a different place and if using a windows keyboard i sometimes forget but other than that i'm happy.

I'd keep it for what difference if any there is on the two keyboards.

Just discovered its the USA keyboard, comparing it to the UK or English International keyboards there are a lot of differences. Smaller enter key, no pound sign, larger shift keys, command and option keys have command and option text rather than abbreviated, not sure which I prefer now lol

iF it;'s the US keyboard then as you say it is not the same. I'm off to New York for christmas and looking to buy a macbook pro. It will have the US keyboard so hopefully i'll be able to use it.

You can still get the pound sign to work by pressing the option and three key at the same time.

You got a decent discount - are those caveats in the keyboard really that important to you that you would pay another 20-30% *just* for the keyboard?

I wouldn't... just to lack a £ sign... as really, that's all you're missing, even Apple's UK keyboards have the @ and " keys reversed compared to standard models...

Yeah sounds silly although the US keyboard I had was significantly different compared to the UK keyboard I am used to, there were a lot more differences on the one I had than just the lack of pound sign, so yeah I much prefer the UK style. Returned it and brought a UK model, much happier - each to their own eh ;)
