New MacBook?

im thinking of buying one very soon.. this messes everything up.

"They are set to be priced extremely aggressively" - What's that supposed to mean?

reckon they'll have improved the gfx card to something a little bit more substantial?

They'll be cheaper.

Unless the spec is considerably up on the current version, in which case it'll be even more competively priced compared to the equivalent dell for example, I say 'even more', since when you count everything the MacBook has, it's already very competitive.

With Macs, it's a case of buying one when you need one. There will always be one better on the way, so there's no point waiting unless Apple have confirmed anything (which they haven't)

If you have the money, buy it now.

or you could just wait till tuesday when paris expo kicks off

iPhone tariff details for France. End Of.

They'll only really announce new products/revisions in June and January (WWDC and MWSF respectively) with a small exception here or there, so buying anything imbetween is always going to bring the "wait.. until XXX" arguments :p

If you need it now, buy it. If not, wait.

So you're telling me you wouldn't wait for what is another 2 days now
For the sake of 2 days I would wait :D

Besides iirc there have been some fairly good announcements in paris expo (well up until steve got annoyed with france) and there have been some rumours of steve jobs being there too.

I wouldn't wait, no.

You have the 14 day grace period.. if anything is announced then you can get it swapped at any Apple store for the new model.

And yes, Steve is going to be there because he's announcing the iPhone France Tariffs on Orange.. last major announcement was what exactly? iPods in 2005?

Correct. Lord Jobs doesn't announce new Macs in Paris. :p

El Jobso does that on his own turf and as I said the MacBook Pro line is due for a facelift before the MacBook

that 14 day returns has a 10% restocking fee on it (yes if you're lucky you may get out of it). Now for me spending an extra 10% of 800 quid (£80 and assuming macbook) over waiting 2 days is blooming daft
