New Macbook's Come with iLife 08

I bought a new macbook last night and was expecting to have to buy iLife 08 as well but as a nice surprise theres now a free copy of it included.

Its comes pre-installed with the older version but contains a CD which lets you update it to the newest version. Another nice touch by apple I have to say.

Nice. I hear you can download the original iMovie HD too if you dont like the new one in 08.

Mine (a few months old) came with a time limited trial version of mac:Office, iWork etc.

Also found it has iMovie HD v6.0.4 (wasn't sure what apps where in iLife) so I assume that's the older version?

A nice touch.

Macs have always come with iLife included, right back to the days of Appleworks

I'd have thought they'd come pre-installed with 08 though, it's a bit strange that they'd choose to install 07 in the first place..

Apparently the new iMacs have it installed but this is a macbook so is probably running an older image.

wish they came with a free upgrade to leopard when it comes out.....

but a nice touch none the less, as im buying one next week

Been trying it out using iWeb to make a test web page. Can't believe how well it works and how easy it is to use.

Also iMovie 7 doesnt say its the HD version but it seems to say it supports it. 1080i seems to be in the list of options.

Is the new iDVD included? With HD-DVD/BluRay capability?
