I'm looking for a new 24 port unmanaged switch, it will just be used to create a few VLANs, is there anything better than a Netgear GS724T for £120 ?

The one I recently opted for was the Dlink DGS-1210-28 it's actually a smart switch so somewhere between an unmanaged and a managed switch so quite a lot of features without having to go fully managed. Just done a quick search but can definitely be had within the budget you've stated.

Haven't used it yet as I'm still cabling my house but I liked the range of features including energy efficiency, IPv6 awareness features for future proofing, VOIP VLAN and limited lifetime warranty.

The ProCurve switches are highly regarded among enthusiasts, and fanless. Looks like the Netgear you mentioned has a fan.

We sell quite a few GS724Ts at work - give us very little trouble. Has a lifetime warranty as well.

There as a v2 model of the HP 1810-24G (J9803A) - probably not a lot to choose between them.
