New mATX i7 build ~ £1300

Nice build, what the monitor like :)

The monitor is brilliant :) Glad I didn't go for anything bigger (was toying with the idea of a 32" Panasonic LCD at one point) Certainly beats the 15" on my laptop :p

Update on temps, I ran a 10 minute system stability test on Everest and CPU temp went up to 54C. Its down to about 33-34 on idle. This is with the CPU running at stock speed. Do these sound ok for the current setup?

Quick overclock attempt yesterday, got the FSB to 160MHz for a CPU maximum of 3.36 (at 21x multiplier). Idle temps went up to 37C and 61C at load. Do these still look ok? All fans are on low (~950 rpm). I have no experience with i7 temps and want to make sure the heatsink is properly installed.

I like the case very much, may look into getting one for the next air build I do.
I was really impressed with the quality of the case (and the PSU for that matter). Excellent features for cable management and comes with lots of different screws/adapters/extra cable ties. I would recommend the final installation of the heatsink towards the end, it really was a pain to work round.

One thing to look out for on the motherboard is the location of the ATX 20 pin and 8 pin locations. It turned out to work perfectly on the Gene, the cable length from the Silencer meant that I was just able to connect both cables. I have seen other mATX motherboard where the 20 Pin ATX connector is near the I/O plate and it would be difficult to connect the cable neatly. Just a thought ;)

Another consideration with this case is that you loose the lower HDD cage if you install graphics cards over 9.5". You also need to remove the HDD cage if you want to install intake fans in the front of the case.

That's good advice, unfortunately I'm away from home until the weekend so I'll have to try it then.
