New MB?

Hey, i'm after a new motherboard for a friend, his has conked out!

This is the spec:

MSI P35 Neo2-FR Intel P35 PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600
2x2GB PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2
Asus GeForce 8600 GT 256MB
Samsung SH-S203D 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache

He needs a mobo which has a couple of firewire slots, 8 usb slots etc etc.

Any help would be great, i've been out the game with regards to the new technology so i'm unsure what to advise him with.
