So, this isn't possible natively?

What's the easiest way (best way) to make the browser full screen??

Chrome > view > fullscreen.

Safari sucks.

Get bettertouchtool and drag window to the middle and up (like windows 7) and you get maximised safari.

If you want full screen browsing just hold down cmd + alt and hit D this will hide your dock and you will be able to set your browser to fullscreen.

When you point your cursor to the bottom of the screen your dock will appear whenever you need it.

I also just hide the dock. I have a 1920x1200 monitor and it's feels like I'm wasting the extra vertical space if I have the dock there all the time. Functionally it's actually better because you don't end up opening things by accident or having the icons get in the way.
