Looking at getting a new memory card a large one as im finding that 2gb is easily filled. so im looking aroung the 4-6gb mark and have seen the new Extreme 4 cards and a Micro drive i know the extreme cards are good i have a 1gb extreme 3 at the moment, but what are these micro drives like? are they loud as i guess they have moving parts and how fast are they??

thanks

Dont buy a micro dive. They arent reliable enough to be worth trusting with your shots.

Also, flash is so cheap these days.

I would also consider several smaller cards. That way you havent got all your eggs in one basket.

Integral i-pro 100x compact flash are very good.

4gb go for £80

Got 2x4gb, 2x2gb, 2x1gb myself now

Never had any problems in various different camera *apart form the 4gb in my A80 that doesn't support Fat32*

Basically Joe's hit the nail on the head. Microdrives don't have the bang for buck advantage that they used to have, they suck battery power and aren't as rugged as solid state cards.

To be honest I wouldn't bother with the Extreme IV cards either unless you can get a good deal, unless you're shooting a Canon 1 series or a Nikon D2X the Ultra IIs are perfectly quick enough and a fair bit cheaper.

Finally do not use eBay!!!. There are far too many fake cards floating around on there to be safe.
