hi guys recently purchased the 12gb (3x4gb) Kit of Corsairs Vengeance 2000mhz :D to run on my asus p6t Deluxe v2 with i7 920 DO, it was overclocked last year and it kept stable around 3.8 mark (also have H50 WC) however last month we had a power cut  which managed to kill one of my old ocz reaper 2gb sticks (6gb kit) so i was down to 4gb and lost my OC settings so ive been running stock levels since, so i thought id treat myself to new memory and try to overclock again, the problems im now having is when i installed the memory ive tried to overclock the cpu again to around 3.6/3.8 mark but every change i make with these sticks it just wont post has anybody got any tips to oc my cpu with these new sticks of mine? the only working option so far is stock bios settings ive tried both XMP profiles but it still wont post unless reset to stock please help

ok just reset bios settings and didnt change anything except to oc with xmp profile 1 which fails to post but reset again and tried xmp profile 2 and it has just booted up, all 12gb working but processor still at stock levels any tips to oc back to 3.6/8 with xmp never had xmp memory before so not sure what im doing

Have you got the latest BIOS - it may be the new BIOS has better memory compatibilty update (yours included).

ok im ocing it in baby steps lol xmp profile 2 gave me a multiplier of 19 and bus speed of 143(2.7ghz), changed these to 21 and 150 (3.1Ghz) i will try push this until im happy but not sure on voltages because they say 1.5v on the sticks but this profile has changed it to 1.6 should i change it to 1.5 or bump to 1.66 any tips?

ok then managing to get somewhere now - although still confused with the voltages - QPI/DRAM Core voltage - 1.6 (red text)
DRAM Bus Voltage - 1.5 (blue)

is it the core voltage that should be 1.5v? or bus voltage?

If i remember correctly the qpi/dram core voltage should not exceed 1.35v (This is your cpu's onboard memory controller) as 1.6v can kill your cpu.

The dram bus voltage should be volts the that your memory requires (printed on a sticker on the side of the ram modules) the ones below are 1.5v.

ye they are the ones i have mate, the stage im now at is this - cpu ratio- 19, bclk 200 (3.8ghz) dram frequency 2005mhz but my qpi dram core voltage is set by profile at 1.6 with dram bus voltage at 1.5v which boots fine but when i change qpi down to 1.35 it fails to post
