Merry Christmas guys. I got a problem with a xmas prezzy I had of the misses hope you guys can help.

I have a ga-x58-usb MB that had 6GB (3x2GB) and I got another 6GB that is same brand and type for Xmas to take it to 12GB. I put it in the PC and the PC will not even boot to the BIOS. I can just hear the fans running and HD's but nothing else, black screen and no MB beeps as usual.

If I take the memory out it works again. If i swap out the new memory with the old memory, it works. It just seems that the once all 6 rams sticks are together it doesn't work.

I got the MB with ram and CPU from OCUK already configured for me as I am a little unsure of timings and stuff so have never had to play with the BIOS much.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong and can help?

Thanks in Advance for any help

R.

I'm no expert on X58 but I think you may need to increase the QPI/VTT voltage with 6 sticks of RAM.

Try bumping up the voltage a little and then adding the extra 3 sticks.
