New menace? Driving partly on the wrong side of the road

Clearly we've all had experiences of tailgating (nowadays mainly Audi drivers), drivers coming the other way who can't be bothered to dip their main headlights, BMW drivers who can't indicate.

I seem to be experiencing a new menace just recently that I don't remember having before, i.e. having cars coming the other way quite happy straddling the white line and with part of their car on my side of the road. Some are drivers who've overtaken parked cars and seem to wish to really take their time pulling back in again, even if it results in me having to slow down. Last night, I came across a guy waiting at a set of lights, 2 feet of his car on the "wrong side of the road" and with seemingly no genuine reason, as there was plenty of space to his left.

Anyone else see a lot of this more recently?
Anyone else as annoyed as me by it?

Come across it a lot, or people who seem to think that despite there being an obstruction on their side of the road they can just barge in front of you.

I have had that quite a lot on my way home.
There is a stretch of road where the line is in the center and the actual road is barely big enough to fit a car between grass and white line.
If you know what your doing and have the required special awareness you need to drive a car; you can drive on the road fine. Unfortunately there is a rise is drivers who buy the Crossover type cars who then are so worried about their tyres touching grass that they drive with a wheel on the white line, or over it.

I have had a couple clip my wing mirror and then have the gall to blame ME...
I don't back down, I'm not putting my car in the verge to avoid them so i just carry on, if they hit me then they pay for the damages.

There are a few country B roads around here that are quite narrow too and the edges are pretty rough (potholes, no kerbs etc). It's easier on my suspension and better for control if I drive towards the center of the road and move towards the side when I see oncoming traffic.

I just keep on my path. If they're on the wrong side of the road, they can worry about how they'll explain it to the insurance.

That's all well and good if you've got a witness or a dash cam showing them over the line if not you're just lining yourself up for a 50/50 claim.

Get this a lot, and if you just carry on toward them you get the glaring look off the guy in the wrong!

I've been noticing this a lot recently. What really amazes me is when you have to swerve or jam the brakes on to avoid them and you look at the driver who is just staring into the distance completely oblivious.

Starting to see it more often around here, guy at a T junction was that far over people couldn't get down the side of him coming the other way resulting in a right queue.

Drivers that don't acknowledge you when you've clearly let them through / pass / let in that really winds me up!

Also, one's that need a space big enough to land a jumbo jet in to overtake parked cars causing you to stop/slow down!

Also, cars that park too close to junctions!

arhhh!!!

I see increasing amounts of this, mostly vans cutting reasonably sharp corners.

Try going to Greece and driving on the motorway, where people just pretty much make up their own lane markings. I followed a car down the motorway into Athens a few weeks ago and he did at least 3 miles fully in the hard shoulder and the next couple of miles straddling the line between the hard shoulder and lane 1.
