New Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II

I think 50K is madness, I suspect 50K is reasonable but 100K is taking the pee a little, but if someone is willing to pay that fair play. A car for a collector, though I agree cars should be driven not parked but nice to see them appear when they do.

I could never see the appeal of those when they were out new, manual gearbox, left hand drive, worse than the e30 M3's.

This is why they appeal, homologation specials are simply an expensive bitza but all the more epic for it.

Some super rich collector from somewhere will probs not think twice about giving £100k to have it in their collection. Will more than likely be one of their "cheaper" cars.

Pretty much the reality of it. It's like me (on a MUCH smaller scale) when I am purchasing old home computers for my collection. When I see the mint boxed ones I bid a grand because I know the vast majority of people bidding against me are not as keen or even willing to spend that much. Mind you, it does mean I paid £350 for an Atari 800XL once, though it was MINT :D
