New Metal Gear Solid coming to PC

MGS is dead, over and done with, finished.

I honestly couldn't care less what they make new ones on, after MGS4 I'm never touching the series again. I refuse to be party to the further butchering of a series I have such fond memories of.
 
Apparently it's a mindless hack-n-slash that Kojima thinks is a lacking spin-off at best and an abomination at worst. That's what I've heard anyway :eek:

I've gave up on having MGS properly on PC a few years after MGS3 came out. Which is why I'll be getting the HD Collection for PS3... that is, whenever I get round to buying a PS3, as PC is by far my preferred platform and this year especially looks like it'll keep me plenty busy.

Sad, but true. Though the only reason I own an X-box which I haven't turned on in over a year is because I want to play the HD collection! ....If only it contained MGS and MGS4(which I still haven't played).

And this new MEtal Gear Rising looks ****!


^^ Jomiyo- Aren't you referring to Metal Gear Rising? That isn't this is it?

:eek: You need to go right now and buy MGS1 and a PS1.

Sadly none of the more recent ones can compare to the original MGS1. Think I'd only be happy if the original was taken, nothing changed bar texture update and put on to the PC. But if I remember from reading Konami wanted to "tweak" the story as well, which I don't want, as by tweak I read that as "ruin a classic".

Oops, my bad. Still highly skeptical tho...


As an aside, my ratings of the games would go: MGS1/3 (tie) > MGS2 > MGS4. Tho nostalgia probably gives the first one a fair boost, as Snake Eater is indeed awesome.

wasnt the original one on pc? aswell as the second?
 
MGS1+2 were both ported to PC many years ago & much better than the PS2 versions (MS publisher MG1 on PC). MGS2 was one of the first DVD only PC titles I believe as well.

I'd kill for that. Ok, maybe not, but I'd go so far as to pay triple the amount of a new game. Call me crazy, but MGS is that dear to me :o
 
Didn't metal gear solid rising got cancelled and instead there is a spin off called metal gear solid revengeance which is being made by some other studio?

I hope the new upcoming version on PC has solid storyline with a good character:(

But with departure of solid snake and big boss, any future mg solid game won't have the same impact ever again:(
