The pc I'm using at present is an OC Spinosaurus that I bought 6 years ago and it still performs fairly well but I'm thinking it should either be replaced or updated and I'm not sure of which to do.
I'm not much of a gamer, only play WoW, but would like to maybe play some of the new first person shooter type of game.
So my question is would I get more for my money but using the existing case, ss drive etc and buy a bundle or just but a ready built one.
I have budgeted on spending around £800 but less is always good.

Thanks for having a look and your opinions would be appreciated.

The cheapest option would always be to reuse what you can and build yourself. But not knowing what you have currently I dont know what you can reuse ;)

so here is a prebuilt: Still leaves room for windows if needed

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x "ForceBox Gamer Plus" Intel Core i5 4690 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) Nvidia GTX VR Ready Gaming PC = £732.00
    • Build Time:Standard Build Systems - Dispatched within 7 working days
    • Graphics Card:Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
    • Case:BitFenix Phenom MATX Cube Case - Nvidia Edition - Black

    • Warranty:OcUK Standard System Warranty - 3 Year (24 Month C&R + 12 Month Labour)

    • Secondary Hard Drive / Solid State Drive:No Second Hard Drive Option (ZERO Cost)
    • Operating System:Unwanted

Do you know the full spec of your current system ?

Also what case is it built in ?

You might be fine with just a new gpu rather than a new system, depending on what you have.

Guys sorry for the delay in replying but work really does get in the way and I'd like to thanks LewisRaz and lee32uk for their input.

My system at present is
Motherboard Gigabyte Z77 chipset
Intel i5 2500K 3.7 running at 4.2
Crucial MX100 512 Gb
8Gb memory
N'vidia GTX460
Generic DVD re-writer
750W PSU
Antec case with 2 x cooling fans.

So I would be better to change the PSU and the only things I would be able to reuse are the case, SDD and DVD re-writer.

the choice is whether or not you want to start a rolling upgrade process.

£800 could buy you a whole new system, allowing you to sell your current rig, or it could be used to upgrade specific parts of your current PC.

The case, PSU, SSD, DVD and cooler could easily be reused leaving you enough money to make a meaty upgrade to your core components..

You could just chuck a new gpu in there if you want the cheapest upgrade. The i5 2500K is still a good cpu.

Something like an RX 480 or GTX 1060 would be fine for casual gaming at 1080p.

The Sapphire card is about 240mm long so just double check clearance in the Antec.

What is the make/model of the psu ?

I would definitely just upgrade the graphics card, something like a GTX1060 or RX480 would be a massive upgrade in graphics performance for you.

The psu is just an off the shelf one and I'm not sure it would support the new ranges of gpu.
I like the idea of just a graphics card upgrade if it would do the job as todays upgrades are always better value in a months time.
Thanks to all for the helpful suggestions.

What does it say on the label ? It should have the make and model.

Both the RX 480 and GTX 1060 require only a single pci-e connector (8 pin for the RX 480 and 6 pin for the GTX 1060)
