Alright, so I have gone from thinking of a going for a normal size build to a mini.

I would be going for the BitFenix Prodigy case in white goes with with the macbook and looks beautiful :)
i5 3570k cpu seems the standard.
120gb SSD
320gb HDD
2 x 4gb Dimms

Now I have read and watched articles on the BitFenix Prodigy and different ITX motherboards, however I am still undecided. What ITX board has the best layout? As I have read that can be issues with the location of heat sinks and graphic cards.
I want to be able to play the latests games; BF3 FarCry 3, Planet Side 2, so I will be getting an AMD 7970 or 7950.

Kit:
BitFenix Prodigy
i5 3570k
120gb SSD
320gb HDD
2 x 4gb Dimms
7970/7950
motherboard and heatsink unsure...

My last question, is it worth going down the mini itx cases and so on?

Thanks

Yes there can be issues with the heatsyncs. Z77e-itx and nt06-e work together, low profile ram is also needed, I would avoid any GPU's with backplates though as the heatpipes only have 5-10mm clearence.
