Enyone else noticed this? It's basically a Cooper in dark silver with white indicators and nicer alloys as standard. I don't understand why they've done it, surely a way to annoy Cooper S owners?

Looks damn nice for a Cooper though, especially with the 17""s

It's no extra charge so I guess it makes sense to leave them on and then have them removed if they don't look as good in the flesh.

Do any of you know how much it'd be to get some decent red break callipers on it, like the JCW kit?

You can't get any performence upgrades from the factory on the Cooper, only the Cooper S. You can get plenty done aftermarket though.

Whereabouts are you based? A number of specialists can fit the JCW front discs, pads + calipers as an upgrade. It might even be worth asking the dealer.
