Well, I'm looking after a new mmorpg game! I want it to be as new as possible, don't want to start playing one where everybody are already high-levled and such, and that the game is going to "die" soon, etc... you probably know what I mean...
The ones I already played/don't want to play are:
Wow
LOTR
Knight-Online
GW
Hero-Online
So yeah basically I guess there aren't many left but maybe someone will come up with a good one... I don't really care about graphics and stuff, I want it to have good community, and that it'll be fun I guess...

Thanks! :)

Theres a new expansion pack for GW which is out/nearly out (dont know which one) and if you have already played GW that upps the level count iirc so there wont be many full levels yet :)

Whilst it is a few years old and therefore will have a high level playerbase, Lineage 2 has a new expansion coming soon (December) which is putting in a new class. So if you played untill then just to get the hang of it + earn some money when the expansion hits you can reroll the new class and be on a level playing field (sort of).

don't wanna play gw as mentioned, lineage never played it so it's not the best idea i'm afraid.
achlord looks pretty good actually, how old is this game, what do you guys think about it?

That must be the first time I have ever heard anyone say Archlord is quite good lol ..in my opinion its a dreadful MMO. I've been playing MMOs since UO in 1997 (looking back still the best one of its time I played) and if you ask me, Archlord is just another of those cheapo "anime" stylized crappy MMOs which seem to appear every few months like they are coming off some kind of MMO Constructor for Windows program.

I mean, 3 months after it was released they had to make it free to play, which pretty much sums up how poor it is. Actually, funnily enough a friend of mine works for Codemasters and even he says how awful it is and its a Codemasters published game !! (although admittedly he is a GM for LOTR so may be slightly biased :) )

On the plus side, at least Gamespot gave it 2.7 hehe http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/archlord/review.html

To answer your original question..I dont know really..you say it must be as new as possible..I guess I would have said LOTR or Vanguard as they are the newest of the main titles..but you have already tried LOTR and Vanguard turned out to be quite poor. I guess if I had to make a suggestion, I would say wait a few months and go for either Age of Conan or Warhammer Online.

and when are these gonna come out?
btw after doing some thinking i'd rather it be a p2p game, as odd as it might sound the community is always better when people are actually PAYING for the game, they care more about it.

thanks tombstone i gave up on archlord now, having read their forums, what a messive spam is going in there, so no thanks.

Both are slated for a quarter 1 of 2008 release currently. So a bit of a wait yet, sadly though there just arent too many other new MMOs around.

Thats not really an MMO though is it? I thought it was just one team fights against another team on an map...kind of more like a WoW battleground or Guild Wars, than an MMO where you run around a gameworld with thousands of other players all running around?

Well I don't know, I've not played it myself. A lot of professional WoW PvP'ers tried it out a while back and said it was pretty good overall.

I'd actually try Vanguard if you can find a copy cheap. Sony have tidied it up a lot, it's in a lot better shape than it was at release.

It's a kind of love it or hate it game though, but definitely worth a look if you see it going cheap (don't think there's a free trial at the moment).

Also if you haven't tried Eve, it's possibly the most open, deep, excellent mmo ever. Doesn't matter if you're only starting out, you can still kill much older pilots with the right ship setup and tactics. 's also getting a graphics update before christmas, not that it really needs it.

This is a big prob. for me also, I want a hardcore PvP MMORPG. Shadowbane has the type I want, the game just sucks & EvE is to complicated. The MMORPG market sucks now & many like me feel the pain.

EvE is to complicated. .
well yeah i guess but you make it as complicated as you want if you just want to pvp doesn't really take that long to get to grips with
:D

Have you looked into everquest 2 on a pvp server ?

Well Fury is a purely PvP based MMO, and like I said some of the best WoW PvP'ers in the world said it's pretty good. There's tournaments and ladders...etc with real prizes...etc

Maybe you should give it a try.

I decided I will just wait till march for Age Of Conan to come out, this game looks so so so amazing!! having read a lot on it and I can't wait. :)
(btw I am working these days my contract ends on march so whoho... :D).

i'd play LOTRO tbh, its still relatively new, and there's hardly any of Middle Earth playable atm, but there's so much to do in the area's you have, the game is big and like WOW, the possibilities of how big the game could be if done right are astronomical. I played it a little bit and found it very enjoyable.

LOL, you have to be kidding suggesting that, i got a 79 SK and a 76 PP, quit a couple of years back, that game required you to play non stop grinding the same mobs over and over and over and over again for little or no money, although, the pvp is insane in that game :D ahhh, the old cruma days (original players will understand)

ags

Its all pve based though. The combat system isnt that great. I had it with wow playing it all hours for nothing but virtual items, at least wow had some semblance of a pvp system. Granted LOTRO is a bit more layed back and "easier" but I got bored after level 30.

I cant see the point of a pure pve based mmo, may as well play Oblivion at least its free of all that is bad about mmos.

I would wait for warhammer looks the best of the lot tbh.
