Hello guys , Im not new to these forums as i browse here for advice at least once a month. But yes i am a new Registered user. Firstly let me say hello all and looking forward to the advice im hopefully going to receive. :blah:

Anyway heres my scenario. Im currently using an old nFORCE 520/560 Board. ALiveNF7G-HD720p is the model. Now this is old and hard to find drivers for when i do my Windows Reinstalls and tbh its just plain OLD. Also being an mATX Board its not going to be put to waste but moare will go into that in a minute. Processor is AMD Athlon x64 4200+ at 2.19GHZ. Another OLD Processor which tbh will also be put to good use. Now what im after is for the CHEAP a new Mobo and CPU and im guessing new RAM depending on if its DDR2 / 3. Got 3tb of Space on SATAII HDD's so there not a neccessity. What im here for though is advice on which CHEAP now i emphasise the CHEAP a lot cause im running low on funds due to having children and a house to run  Bear in mind i do game. So it has to be at least gameable. I play WoW and Need For Speeds at 110FPS stable with this setup atm. So needs to compare if not beat that. *Yes i know thats my GFX doing most of the work* :P

Anyway ill be using the Old MoBo and CPU and RAM on my mAT Media Centre ,
Also looking for a new Case seen one for £21 .One more point : Any ideas on how i can get the boards SPDIF to work with my GFX card? Seems that HDMI wont output sound even though SPDIF connections are onto my board. Im Using Geforce 9600GT 1gb Sonic. Heres a rundown of what im asking for help with.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=ALiveNF7G-HD720p R2.0 <---- Current Mobo

Awaiting confirmation on fix for SPDIF Using this beast of a cable , 99p oh yes! Seems my Mobo needs the 5v Pin on the SPDIF to be in use so 2 pin to 3 pin is needed. Where i got a 2 pin to 2 pin with my GFX a long time ago
Seems like my problem with SPDIF is that the 5v port on my SPDIF out on the mobo NEEDS to be in use. so ive gone with a nice 99p option. My GFX came with a 2 pin to 2 pin i need 2 pin to 3 pin.

*Removed Link as it was for an ebay item*

Main Points
*New Mobo for Minor Gaming SLI would be pretty much my best choice as the missus is going all out on GFX cards for my Bday :)
*New CPU for Minor Gaming
*Maybe new Ram if the board uses DDR3
*If the new board uses DDR3 6 DIMM slots would be lush.

Minor Points Im willing to remove this and place this in another new post if its in the wrong place
*Help with getting Geforce 9600GT 1GB Sonic HDMI Sound working with ALiveNF7G-HD720p Motherboard. Supposedly putting SPDIF connectors onto the SPDIF part of the board gives that.
*Operating System for Media Centres thats functionable and asthetically pleasing.

Now after looking through the forums this is the only place i could really think to post this. If it is wrong please feel free to :argue: with me lol.

Im just wondering what sort of budget i should allocate due to how hard times are. But ill put a range of £100 - £200 into the works and see what gets thrown about. If that doesnt help me , ill have to up my budget much to the missus's horror :P

It doesnt support SLi but tbh that card youre using is also rather dated now so anything you buy now would just replace it
Not 100% sure on the SPDIF stuff sry

Aye the card is dieing anyway lol. The board looks good the CPU looks good. Its only a minor rig. So doesnt need to be fancy.

Just realised actually, if you were willing to go just over your £200 you could squeeze a Phenom x4 955 in there as opposed to the Athlon

Your motherboard manual should walk you through connecting that up. have a look at Page 30 of This

Ever played about with Linux and xbmc?

Yeah , i have the manual , it shows that its a 3 Pin SPDIF out on the motherboard so i needed to get one with a +5v connection. the GFX Card came with a 2 Pin to 2 Pin , which is why i get no sound. So i took a run through the bay and found a cable for 99p. Bargain.

Ive played about with linux before. Gonna have a gander at XBMC now thanks for that buddy.

Also the updated CPU looks bloody tasty :)
