hey guys, i have replaced just about everything in my pc except the mobo and hdd now i have a new mobo and have sold the old one i get the gfx and psu in a few days and what i want to know is:

Do i have to format my Harddrive when i install the new mobo?

i sold the old mobo befor i could format the harddrive so now i cant save my stuff if i have to wipe it?

whats the standard prosedure for a new mobo regarding a harddrive?

thanx for the help

You don't always have to format your hard drive when swapping motherboards, sometimes it works without a hitch, sometimes you need a re-activation code from Microsoft(for Windows) and then there is the final option that it just won't work but that is pretty rare.

If worst comes to worst then I'd go round to a mates, plug in your hard drive as a secondary/slave drive and start copying to DVD or CD.
