Got my eye on getting a i7-4770k for my next cpu. all I do is game and watch streams really and truly but I'm converting from AMD so don't mind spending a bit to future proof myself...

I've always liked the look of the Asus rog motherboards and love the look and use of their BIOS... I will be overclocking the CPU.

A friend of mine has suggested a Gigabyte sniper but does just really want some advice on what I should be buying giving my only need to game and overclock... Thanks for any advice

Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 has a ton of features usually found on more expensive boards, lacks the motherboard OC buttons though that you find on the Gigabyte z87-OC etc.

Great motherboard for the features though. The bios is easy to navigate and theres plenty of guides online on OC'ing Haswell cpu's.

What are your main needs? do you require SLI / Xfire ? any specific features? sound quality etc? Also budget?

That sounds like a winner then.

My needs are relatively simple... easy to use BIOS for overclocking and some future proofing for another 3-4 years hopefully.

I play fairly simple games but will be dabbling in Battlefield 4 playing on 1920x1080p. I would like the option for SLI but I'll be honest it's not a priority so if it's not there no big loss to me. As for sound quality.. after looking at the Gigabyte motherboards a bit I saw their audio improving chip they have implemented which looks decent... I work for Bose so having nice audio is always a good selling point for me :p

Budget.. hmm.. I would go up to £220 on the motherboard if it was really worth it, maybe even a bit more.

Yeah that's one I was looking at nniitt... It would go with my green colour scheme for computer too...Using a Corsair 600T graphite with green fans in the side panel etc. Was looking at the Avexir venom ram too since.. I'm gonna be swapping out my mobo, cpu, heatsink and ram so I can build my missus a computer too so doing it all would be handy.
