Good morning all,

I'm looking at upgrading my rig, currently running:

CPU: Intel i7-4770K
RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) TeamGroup Vulcan Red DDR3 2400MHz
MoBo: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming (1150)
GPU:MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming Z 6144MB GDDR6
Cooler: Corsair Hydro H105
PSU: SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 850W
Case: CM Storm Trooper

and I'm looking at moving to:

Total: £1,049.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)
ETA: Also, I'd be interested if all of this would fit in something smaller than a CM Storm. I also have 3x SSDs and 2x HDDs in there.

Does this seem sensible and is it compatible? Or does anyone have any better suggestions?

I hope you're all well in these crazy times!

Mike

Any particular reason for Intel and 64gb RAM? Samsung SSD's are ridiculously overpriced. If it's a mainly gaming rig, I'd go for:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £686.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Main reason for Intel is that I’ve always had Intel! :D

and 64GB RAM is mainly due to running a lot of VMs - I’m not sure if running VMs makes any difference to the Intel/AMD debate?

Unfortunately Intel is 2nd best these days on price and performance. If you are steadfast on Intel then your best waiting a couple of weeks / months till the release of 10th gen and the new LGA1200 socket motherboards rather than 1151 and the 9700k which is practically end of life.

remeber when AMD boys used to say that and we all giggled... intel fan boys are the new AMD fan boys.
