(I did place this in the case board but had no response.)

Hey there, my case (was a mesh bought pc 18-24 months ago so they gave no info on exact model, but it is very small) is not large enough for my new ASRock Z68 Pro 3 mobo.

Rather frustrating as I have bought that, an i5-2500k and some DDR3 and cannot get going with it currently. It is perhaps a bit of a blessing in disguise as the case was becoming an irritation anyway due to its size and general poor quality.

In any case I now require a new case but do not want to spend a great deal of money. I have considered the Antec 300 but this seems quite old and again I am not sure if the new setup would fit.

There is no need for special features, lots of fans, masses of space for 3 way SLI setups and perfect cable management or water cooling etc etc it just needs to be spacious enough to fit everything in without a war, easy to use and decent quality whilst also being cheap!

Any recommendations guys as I am looking to order today- do not want to go above £50 if I can help it but could push to £60 if it meant a much better option. Appreciate the assistance.

I was considering this as well as the antec 300:

Do not know much about cases so really do need a bit of help!

Thanks.

Mesh cases are usually m-atx because these are the boards that they use, so the only requirement you have is a case that supports a full atx motherboard.

The antec 300 will be fine and it's probably the best for price/performance in your budget.
If you can stretch a bit further i'd suggest the lian li pca05nb or fractal design r3

If you don't have any special requirements (other than needing an ATX case) you won't need to spend much at all. Most important thing would be to find something you think looks nice.

Coolermaster and Silverstone do some nice budget cases for around £30-40. The majority of them should be fine for your needs.

I have ordered a coolermaster 430 elite as it had the best cost/performance ratio for me. Has cost about £40 to be delivered tomorrow so I can crack on.

Does anybody else have the 430 elite?

so an ASRock z68 Pro3 will fit in the 430 elite no problems? I also intend to add a 570 and a hyper 212+ cooler at a later date.

As for the PSU, the fact that the quality probably is not great due to it being mesh is not lost on me- however it has run my Asus M4A78-VM, 550BE, 4gb DDR2 and 5770 1gb without a hitch for 18 months so I am hoping it should be fine. It is 550w so plenty of power for what I am using.

If I upgrade the GPU (probably to a 570) then I will probably just get a 620w good quality PSU just to be safe but for now I don't see it being an issue just because I am changing to a sandybridge setup.

Unless you guys think otherwise?

I'd get a PSU asap while you're at it. I would assume the 550W would be ok for 5770 but that's about it.

Antec HCG 620W very good and not that expensive. Will deal with a 570, or a 580 for that matter. Some will recommend Lepa, but they are a bit 'green' for me and I'd like to see how they go for a while. The HCG 620W is Antec (always a good start), it's Seasonic design solid and great efficiency), It's been reviewed a lot, and put into rigs as well.

Also i would fit the extension cable before putting mobo in case, as i was a long nosed pliers job for me to fit when all was built. Cos cooler is big.
