My Asus P5B has just died and having major nightmares trying to revive it.

I have an E6600, 2Gb of DDR2 5300 RAM and one of those huge Noctua NH-U12F coolers and running an X1950 card.

Can someone recommend me a decent mobo that will handle most everyday needs with bit of gaming and video editing. Not really too much into overclocking.

is the Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R the best motherboard for the CPU at the moment ?

i see there are other Gigabyte boards that are being recommended in other threads but can't work out what the pro's and con's are of the different models.

I'd like to order today if at all possible so any feedback would be grateful.

I have one and my E6420 is at 3.4, got a cheap E6600 at home waiting to go in tonight, DDR3 and new Intel chips compatible so bit of future proofing in there too!

Great board imo

i noticed it doesn't have firewire.
is that correct? if so which board should i go for with firewire?
i'd like it to have 2 ports at the back and 1 header so i can link it to the front case port.
