Hi guys, I'm a bit of a computer building nooby, built a couple of systems but have bought a few upgrades for my two year old PC for xmas! Basically I purchased the giugabyte G1 Sniper along with a new ssd that is compatible with sata 3. I would like to transfer my operating system to my new SSD when I install the new MOBO, so I bought Acronis True Image and made a copy of my current SSD on my new SSD. My question is two fold:
Firstly, the backup file on my new ssd is a (.tib) file that is 26gb. How do I actually sortof, unpack this file and install it all on the new hard drive? Should I do that process before installing the new mobo or after?
Secondly, when this acronis true image file is unpacked on my new hard drive, can I simply swap the two hard drives round in the boot list? Will it load up into windows without problems or do I need to change anything?
Any help or advice would be amazing and you'd really be helping out a new guy!! Cheers!
