New mobo means new install of OS ?

My mate wants me to install a new mobo for her and i was wondering if i would run in to any problems along the way, shes got a retail version of vista does that mean its as easy as swithing the hardware and everything will be fine ? or should i just do a fresh install ?

Fresh install is best. If you have acronis true image, I would also create an image of the new install once its setup and ready (after you have removed all the acronis auto-loading junk that is), and you have a quick method of fixing her PC once she is infected with lots of virii
