Hey, it's upgrade time. CPU and mobo, since I have an AMD board right now. I want to use my twin ATI x1800s in it, but none of the intel boards I can see specificly mention crossfire like my current board. Does it simply require 2 PCI-E slots?
Current hardware being carried over:
- 2x X1800 VGA cards
- Soundblaster X-Fi (PCI)
- 2x 1GB 3200 RAM modules with very tight timings.
- 2-3 HDDs, all SATA: 2 planned to be in RAID0 configuration.
- Floppy & DVDRW drive (floppy not essential, just useful for 3rd-party driver installs during Windows setup)
- Some 650W PSU with the appropriate graphics card power connectors.
Could anyone recommend a good board for overclocking an Intel Q6600 core 2 quad? Would prefer not to spend over £200 on the board but can do if there is a very compelling reason!
Key points are it must be good for overclocking (I am a novice clocker), must have good onboard RAID support, and MUST have room for at least 1 PCI card when 2 VGA cards + cooler are plugged in.
It should also wash the dishes and do the ironing for me, cheers
