Hey guys,

I was thinking my shuttle is starting to struggle with the latest games now, so its probably time to think about upgrading. I have an SN41G2 with AMD3200 (not 64bit) 1gb 3200 RAM and a geforce 6800 gt.

I wanted to upgrade the mobo and cpu but cant be arsed with replacing the case and stuff, so what are my options in terms of buying a new mobo that will fit this case. Ive been out of the sff loop for sometime so any help would be appreciated!

very VERY limited. you cant really buy shuttle mobos anywhere as their sold as barebones systems (mobo & case & psu), there is one place that sells them as spare parts but it would be cheaper to buy a whole new shuttle

The one place in the UK that was a distributor no longer sells replacement shuttle motherboards.

Unfortunately the only upgrade path is a new shuttle (in this situation to).

I didn't really mean shuttle specific motherboards - what about fitting a biostar GeForce 6100-M9 micro atx into a shuttle (SN41G2V2)? Is it doable?

yeah, shuttles are flex-atx and kinda specific to shuttle only (though biostars and the likes may be the same size, theres no way of knowing if the screw holes will line up int he shuttle chassis)

a mini-ITX board will fit but again screw holes to mount the mobo, position of I/O shield at the back and their not horribly powerful

one thing you could try

egay. theres a couple of boards on there at the min, an SN95G5V3 is one of them

Thats a Micro ATX board, unfortunately shuttles are Flex ATX, it wont fit.

I've got a Mini ITX board in a shuttle case but it required the back panel to be moded slightly as the Flex ATX back panel is a lot smaller than a regular ATX/Mini ITX panel.
