hi guys im quite new to building computers but i need to select a mobo for a new computer that im making needs to have am2 skt and could do with supporting crossfire any suggestions could do with being less than 100quid too:P

Asus M2R32-MVP - £117
MSI K9A Platinum Crossfire - £88

That looks like everything that OcUK do. Loads and loads of SLi boards though. It's quite odd. Pretty much all the Core2Duo boards support Crossfire (even the £65 ASRock ConroeXFire-eSATA II) and all the AM2 boards support SLi.

Are you absolutely commited to AM2? I would have thought for Crossfire, Core2Duo would be cheaper and faster. Even opting for Socket 939 would open up some good, cheap DFI boards.

yeh ive had many pcs with intel dual core, amd x2 and skt 939 and am2 i love the amds i find them so much faster i thought am2 was the new skt 4 amd so shouldnt i be getting am2?? and i found hardly any difference except the price 4 the amd x2 compared to the cheaper 939 and am2. Thnks for your suggestion anyway :D

Dual Core or Core2Duo? The Core2Duo's pretty much destroy any previous Intel chips, even at almost half the clock speed eg. 1.86GHz E6300 will trounce a 3.2GHz P4 950 Presler.

An ASRock ConroeXFire eSATA-II with an E6600 in it will outperform most, if not all, AMD rigs - even overclocked ones, although the differential is not so clear-cut in games where the graphics cards often play a more important part than the processor.
