New model ipod touch

I am thinking of getting the new iPod Touch. I see it has the new connector like the iPhone5 and Apple make an adapter so a 30pin connector can be used.

My question is, will my iPod in car equipment still control the iPod if i was to use this connector.

if you use a radio transmitter that just plugs in the 3.5mm line in then yes, otherwise no

So it looks like my in car equipment wont be fully compatible with the new ipod then due to the change of design.
