New monitor 1440P

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone could help.

I am looking at getting a new monitor but with so many options and panels used (TN\VA\IPS) i cannot decide what to go for and always worried about bleed\dead pixels as well.

My current monitor is a LG 21.5" 22EA63 IPS 1080P display. Apart from this display I have only ever had 1 previous display and this was a Samsung Sync master.

the rest of my PC specs are

I7 9700K
16GB of ram
Samsung 970 Evo NVME 1TB drive
Nvidia 2070S.

My budget was £250 but looking recently prices seem to be going up so maybe a budget of £300.

I mainly use the PC for gaming and web browsing but since Feb this year I have been working from home and using this on my laptop as well. I would use the new monitor as my main display and use this current one as a second display.

The room I game in normally has a lamp on and main light off so normally quite a dark room

any suggestions would be a great help.

I have upped my budget to £300 for a new monitor.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Not looking at going 4k, just 1440p

Lenovo have a flash sale at the moment for their LG 27GL850-B equivalent for £250. Have a look online.

They are all pretty much the same. I think Dell is perhaps a tiny bit better in terms of stand and the warranty, panel wise they are all pretty much the same.

I might have a look now actually as I'm in the market for something similar currently. Also can't find that model you speak of for the price quoted?

The Dell is slightly better, at least stand and warranty wise but IMO there isn't £80 difference in it.

I was thinking for my budget I may have to get a better 1080P monitor as a few of reviews show issues with gaming and the display

That would be good environment to have VA.
Though of course if you haven't had problems with your current IPS, then at least small IPS could do.
But at least LG panel in 27GL850 and Lenovo Y27Q-20 has very mediocre contrast.
(and bigger size makes IPS glow more easy to detect)

It's medieval 1920x1080 which has issues in not fitting much anything on screen without constantly scrolling up and down.
And 2070 Super is well capable for 2560x1440 gaming.

VA's are available for £300/below.
