Hi I currently have a
Asus VG236HE 23" TRUE 120Hz
its a few years old and was wanting to upgrade the colours have never been that good on it there a bit washed out.
my budget is around 300-450pounds
its purely for gaming my gpu is a radeon 7990
I was looking at this
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-004-EO&groupid=17&catid=510
or is there something better also what are the 1440 monitors like for gaming?
thanks

a very good gaming monitor for sure and i'd definitely suggest it would be a good option.

If you look at the 1440p monitors, some can offer reasonable responsiveness. Others can oven "overclock" for higher refresh rates and frame rates, but none natively support 120Hz, and none have the kind of contrast ratios you will get from the FG2421. They also lack the great motion blur reduction backlight technology from the Turbo 240 mode

I can't talk for the 240hz yet as i have not investigated, I can tell you that we released our 144Hz recently and the reviews are coming through very positive, Stulid will be reviewing one soon too and Kitguru's went live today, at £239 with all the inputs, height adjust and usb ports and the best part being designed by a gaming team in the UK over the past 12 months with our R&D, you will find the G2460PQU a real bargain.

Would not buy aoc bought 5 for my business 2 failed in the first year so put off by them, the monitor you linked does look good though.

The EIZO is a very intriguing monitor and one of the most unique out there.

I wouldn't avoid AOC because of a poor show with some monitors you bought for your business. I have bought HP, Dell, Samsung, LG, Iiyama and other models that have all failed for no apparent reason quite early on in their lives. Granted 2 out of 5 is not good, but bad batches etc. do happen.

As the the g2460Pqu I have an extremely thorough review on my website (see forum signature) and have done since the end of July. The long and short of it is, it's not actually all that responsive and there are many things AOC could've done better. The image quality is at least somewhat superior to its direct competition (ASUS and BenQ) but that's about it.
