Hey all, I am looking to get a new monitor for gaming and i am after your knowledge and advice as i know nothing about monitors and i am still running an old 1080p one.

I have a 1070 Graphics card.

I am after getting something 1440p 144mhz, hopefully something that will work with G Sync(i have heard freesync 2 works with Nvidia too?)

Probably 27 inch size.

Hopefully if not to much hoping to come in under £350 ish if possible

Thanks for any advice

Does anyone have this monitor below as any opinions would be good
MG278Q ROG DOMINATOR 27" 2560X1440 TN FREESYNC/G-SYNC 144HZ GAMING WIDESCREEN LED MONITOR

TUF GAMING VG27BQ 27" 2560X1440 TN 155HZ 1MS FREESYNC/G-SYNC WIDESCREEN LED GAMING MONITOR

Take a look at these two just outside your price range:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £751.08 (includes shipping: £11.10)

You should check their gsync compatibility.

If all you're after is gaming then going for a TN monitor isn't actually an issue, but they do suffer in non-gaming use.

Thanks Quartz i will check them out, main use will be for gaming on PC and also plugging console in as well, office use is secondary to be honest. Can i ask what sort of issues you would see with TN on normal non gaming use?

Also would it make a difference if i upped the budget to say £400?

Colours won't look quite right. TN panels often use 6 bits per pixel, dithered up to 8 with FRC, whereas IPS panels use 8-10 bits. And I've yet to see a HDR TN panel.

A bit. Check out OCUK's entire range and check out reviews on sites like TFTCentral. Really, the monitor is the one item on which you should spend as much as you can afford.

Dell S2719DGF can be had for around £350, it gets really positive reviews, overclocked to 155hz and great response rate due to TN panel

Both monitors are TN and you should look at IPS monitor for better colour reproduction.

The Dell I just mentioned above is a TN panel but a lot of the reviews say the colour reproduction is great and better than most TN panels

TN panels will give a faster response rate than most IPS panels if that important for your gaming needs but they do suffer when looking at anything but directly towards them.

What kind of games do you play?

If you could stretch up to these monitors will notice the difference massively. Well worth the money. A bit of a hold up with the LG but hoping to get them in the back end of November. Wait for black Friday too, hopefully get discount on certain monitors.

Ill take a look at these also thanks
