New monitor advice

I am looking to buy a new monitor for my gaming PC.

I currently have a 24 inch 144hz monitor, but want something bigger.

I'd like something at least 27", 144hz and highest HD possible. I've been looking at ultra wide and curved, but getting confused with all the tech jargon so would appreciate the help and guidance. I have a budget up to £400.

I have a 1070ti gpu - not sure if this is relevant.

I suppose my Ryzen 5 1600 would struggle to keep up too.

2560x1400 ~3.7mln pixels
so nearly twice as much

Would it be okay if I played games normal HD, 144z, then 4k/1440p for YouTube/general browsing.

Alright, I will hang fire for now as I'm not convinced it's the right decision with my current hardware.
